This short course is specifically aimed at preparing Biomedical Scientists for the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) Diploma of Expert Practice (DEP) in Histological Dissection, or similar / linked qualifications.

 

During the course you will:

Learn about the mandatory modules for the IBMS DEP in Histological Dissection, undertake some practical sessions, and gather evidence to go in your training portfolio.

 

What will I gain?

Detailed knowledge and understanding of the key requirements, such as clinical governance, pathological process, principles of dissection, and all the other mandatory sections from the training logbook.

 

Level: L6

 

Entry requirement: You will be expected, but not required, to have registered for the DEP and to have a copy of the training logbook before starting this course.

 

Where you’ll learn: NTU Clifton Campus

 

Tutor Profile: A range of NTU academics, as well as laboratory practitioners, will deliver sessions on the course. The course leader is a Principal Lecturer in Cellular Pathology, a holder of the IBMS Diploma in Histological Dissection, IBMS Deputy Chief Examiner for Cellular Pathology, a member of the IBMS Scientific Advisory Panel for Cellular Pathology and a member of the IBMS Scientific Advisory Panel for Molecular Pathology.

·        A copy of your IBMS training logbook and portfolio so far, if you have them.
