Learn a Language (ULP)

Welcome to the online store for NTU students who would like to study a language in addition to their degree course. 

We offer courses in various stages in the following languages:

• Arabic (stages 1 - 4)
• Business English (for non-native speakers of English (stages 5 – 7)
• English as a Foreign Language (EFL) (supplementary, stages 5 – 7)
• French (stages 1 - 7)
• German (stages 1 - 7)
• Italian (stages 1 – 2, 4 – 6)
• Japanese (stages 1 – 3)
• Korean (stages 1 - 2)
• Mandarin (stages 1 – 6)
• Spanish (stages 1 – 7)

The ULP runs for 22 weeks during term time. The location of your class will be added to your timetable following your registration.

In addition to your 2 hour per week class, you will need to complete, on average, two to four hours per week of directed and independent learning.  Details will be provided on NOW.

Your syllabus is carefully designed so that teaching and directed learning activities complement each other, and your full engagement with both learning opportunities is critical to your success.

Start date: courses start in the week commencing 30/09/2024.

Cost: £200 (full year students) / £140.00 (half year students).  If you pass your language course, we’ll refund your fee.
