Sleep Well Science Assessments

STAGE 2 – STANDARD ASSESSMENTS

STAGE 2 – STANDARD ASSESSMENTS

Description

Depending on the sleep challenges identified, one of three standard sleep assessments will be conducted.

1. Objective sleep, activity, and environment [ACTIGRAPH] | £780

A wrist watch worn on the non-dominant arm for 2 weeks. This provides continuous 24/7 recordings of 3D movement, measurement of red, green, blue, and lux light, and peripheral / environmental temperature. Can help to identify sleep times, disruption, and duration.

2. Subjective sleep - Daily diary [DIARY] | £180

A daily diary delivered and completed online to record subjective sleep over 2 weeks. This will provide insight into how well/how long clients sleep, any interruptions to sleep, and bad dreams.

3. Subjective fatigue [FATIGUE] | £240

Online 2-week momentary analysis to identify exhaustion, fatigue across the day and after sleep.

STAGE 3 – SUPPLEMENTARY ASSESSMENTS

STAGE 3 – SUPPLEMENTARY ASSESSMENTS

Description

Depending on the issues arising from the initial sleep investigations, there is scope to further identify remediation options using the following assessments

1. Sleep structure - Brain activity [BRAIN] | £1140

An at-home EEG sleep monitor that measures electrical brain activity to give insight into sleep stages such as slow wave sleep, REM, and light sleep. Consists of three easy self-applied peel-and-stick sensors placed behind each ear and back of head.

2. Sleep structure – Under mattress analyser [MATTRESS] | £360

An under-mattress sleep tracker that records heart rate, breathing, movement, sleep cycles, snoring, and sleep apnea detection. Doesn't require Wi-Fi, wearing anything, and compatible with most mattresses.

3. Blood oxygen concentration [OXYGEN] | £300

A wrist worn device that measures blood oxygenation levels and can help to identify sleep apnea.

4. Core body temperature [CORE TEMP] | £600

A small swallowable telemetric tablet (eCelsius) which measures internal core body temperature. Data from the tablet is transmitted to a small receiving dock. Gut transit time is typically 24-36hours. This can help identify circadian rhythm misalignment, slow wave sleep, and sleep quality.

5. Hormonal sampling [HORMONE] | £1140

Hormones can be extracted as saliva or blood samples and are processed in our HTA-licensed laboratory using ELISA assays. The sleep hormone melatonin and stress hormone cortisol provide information about circadian rhy
