Course Description

Providing consultancy can generate benefits for a wide range of stakeholders by sharing our expertise and creating relationships with organisations that support our teaching, research, and knowledge exchange.

This course will address these benefits and help you develop your own consultancy.

During the course you will:

  • assess your competitive position
  • find your clients and understand their needs to develop your pitch
  • plan how to deliver your proposal effectively and the good use of language
  • discuss barriers in delivering your project and managing project risks
  • consider how to demonstrate the need for your consultancy
  • learn how to meet the needs of beneficiaries or funders
  • develop your bargaining tools and other non-cash benefits
  • evaluate your pitch to ensure it is realistic and have a backup position.

It’s delivered through lectures and group discussions, classroom activities and real-life examples.

What will I gain?

By the end of the course, you will have designed a proposal that you can pitch for consultancy.

You’ll leave with the confidence to deliver your pitch, negotiate, and manage customer expectations.
