Walking Tour with Robin Hood (6 June, 4-6 PM) - £10

Meet Robin Hood and discover the truth of the ‘Hooded Man’! This thorough and fun exploration of the evolution of the legend is told against the back drop of the city. As you visit places associated with Robin Hood, you will also see the town’s key sites of interest and learn about its history and culture. Landmarks like the Council House, Old Market Square, the Theatre Royal, Caves and other, quirky, hidden surprises all await you on this adventure around town. The tour ends at Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem where Robin Hood invites you to drink ales with him.

Embroidery Workshop (6 June, 4 – 5.30 PM) - £10 

Join artist Rachel Carter for a creative workshop where you will be able to create your own mixed media piece framed in an embroidery hoop. Bring along your favourite quote or line from a poem and embelish it with colourful fabrics, lace and embellishments. No experience needed, all materials provided. Rachel is one of the co-creators of a new sculpture, ‘Standing In This Place,’ and the workshop will provide an opportunity to reflect on this commemorative project. https://www.standinginthisplace.co.uk/

‘Standing In This Place’ talk and walk  (7 June 2.30 – 4 PM) - £5 

Join artist Rachel Carter and members of the Legacy Makers to learn more about Nottingham’s newest sculpture, ‘Standing In This Place,’ which celebrates and commemorates female cotton workers of the East Midlands and enslaved women of the Americas. There will be a short film screening, a chance to talk with project members over refreshments, and then a walk together through the city to see the sculpture. https://www.standinginthisplace.co.uk/

Bromley House Library tours (6 June 4 PM) - £10 OR (7 June 2:30 PM) - £10 

Bromley House Library, founded in 1816, is a historic independent subscription library in Nottingham, renowned for its extensive collection and rich literary heritage. Housed in a Grade II* listed Georgian townhouse, it serves as a vital cultural institution, preserving Nottingham’s intellectual history and fostering a vibrant community of readers and researchers. This hour-long tour will focus on the history of the house and library, include a visit to the library garden, and will touch on the idea of Bromley House as a carrier of memory.

MBA Reconnect is our exclusive event for the NBS MBA community - current students and MBA alumni. 

During the day, there will be a programme of immersive workshops to attend, followed by a Gala Dinner in the evening, with a post-dinner guest speaker. Elevate your knowledge, reconnect with peers, expand your network and celebrate your achievements together.

The CPD Day event is free for all attendees (but you are still required to book a place, so we can monitor bookings). Tickets for the Evening Dinner are £40 each.
