Dog Training

Evenings, 6.30pm – 7.30pm, in person, six weeks 

Standard price per learner: £97.50

Indicative maximum class size: 7 dogs

This is a follow on short course after graduating from our puppy course or for other dog owners who want to train and socialise their dogs.

Course Description

This short course consists of six weeks and will cover the following core skills:

Session 1.  Mastering the basics and dictating progress

·         This session will cover core training exercises you can use to help keep your dogs under control in most settings and learn to identify markers of progress in training 

Session 2.  Dealing with the reactive dog

·         This session will help you to react appropriately to the various challenges posed by reactive dogs, both in the house and during walks

Session 3. Dog to dog socialisation

·         This session will cover appropriate introduction, greetings, play and managing arousal between dogs

Session 4.  How to handle fear

·         This session will focus on how to respond to things that can make our dogs scared

Session 5. Managing walks in very busy places

·         This session will focus on how to handle walks in busy environments

Session 6. Learning to set goals and become better trainers

·         This session will discuss and allow you to practice exercises to help you become more confident in your training and take your skills to new heights

The overall aim of this course is to have well socialised and confident dogs, with owners that are well versed and happy to tackle the challenges of teaching new habits to dogs.
