Light on Display – KS3
Target age range: Years 7 – 9.
Length of activity: Approximately 1 hour – 1 1/2 hours.
Learning outcomes: Pupils will explore light and its origins and see how it is used in technology.
Talk with slideshow: Through discussion of recent developments in the field of light-reactive materials, students will develop their ideas about materials, display technology and engineering. There will be an interactive presentation to demonstrate the properties of materials when they interact with light.
Experiment: The students will be able to participate in a number of experiments including creating glow-in-the-dark materials, and they will develop skills such as prediction and analysis of results.
