With an increasingly complex environment as context, this course explores the leadership, organisational, individual and social factors that impact organisational performance and the quality of working life. It provides insight into how leaders can engage with key issues strategically, in order to make more effective leadership decisions that shape organisational success.

Course Description

During the course you will explore leadership theory and practice in relation to leading strategically in complexity. You will reflect on what it means to be a leader, including ethical leadership, paradoxes inherent in leadership and how dysfunctional leadership can impact organisational health. By exploring psychologically informed approaches to understanding individual performance, collaboration, engagement and wellbeing, you will learn how to maximise performance and wellbeing in your teams. Through the course you will explore contemporary perspectives, current challenges and the future of work, reflecting on what this means for you as a leader.

Day 2: Leading organisational effectiveness

Day 3: Engaging people

The course will be delivered over 3 full days with an on line assessment session and an assessment hand in date of 27th April.
