Digital Crime Scene

Course start date: Monday 16 January 2023, to Sunday 9 April 2023

Duration: 3 Months online course

Course Module: 5 credit points comprising of 50 hours of work

This course will provide an introduction to digital forensics at a crime scene. 

This will include an overview of the principles and procedures involved when recovering digital devices and evidence, and the correct way to deal with these devices when at a digital crime scene.

You can sign up for this course at any point within the live period. However, if the course is due to finish within three weeks’ time, you can alternatively wait until the next course sessions begin to ensure you have ample time to complete it.

Course Description

This course will provide an introduction to digital forensics at a crime scene.

  • The fundamentals of digital forensics 
  • Digital crime scene processing and recording 
  • Detail on the recovery of common digital devices 
  • Digital crime scene case studies 

 

Emma Rixon:

Emma is Principal lecturer in Forensic Science at Nottingham Trent, having taught Forensic Science here for over 14 years, covering all aspects of Crime Scene Investigation. Before being a lecturer, Emma was a Scenes of Crime Officer for 10 years, giving her a vast amount of experience in Crime Scene Investigation.
