Experimental Moving Image (weekdays)
Wednesday to Friday, 10 am - 4 pm, three days
Indicative maximum class size: 12
Moving image is everywhere, from short films to video art and from experimental music videos to animation.
On this practical course, you’ll learn creative approaches to making expressive moving image works including essay films, using archive footage, aesthetic decisions in editing and utilising colorised blending effects.
Focusing on materiality, form and emotion, you'll use the world around you as inspiration to create short moving image works with a contemporary art focus.
Suitable for a complete beginner or anyone who has created video content before, this technical course will help you to develop your own creative voice to make visually interesting moving images.
There’ll be lots of opportunities for experimenting, exploration and risk taking so that you can confidently communicate your ideas through moving image.
You’ll use cameras and digital editing equipment to create a self-directed moving image project and, if you’re feeling brave, you can submit your work to short film festivals at the end of the course.
