Course Description

The course will see you develop a body of work which will be published in your own, handmade book.

You’ll be shown and guided through the different options you have when it comes to book making.

You’ll develop your InDesign and Photoshop knowledge, expand your design capabilities as well as learn about the different types of books and the skills required to fold, cut, stitch and eventually open your own book.

In preparation for the workshop, you must have an idea of a project you’d like to publish.

On this course you will:

  • make a collaborative Zine using specialist printing processes
  • learn about a range of print processes which can be used to create your publications
  • learn about book binding, mock-ups, paper folding and paper types
  • gain instruction on both inDesign and Photoshop Software
  • edit your work into a cohesive, engaging body of work
  • create a mock up before going to print
  • make your own publication.

What will I gain?

You’ll leave this course with your own publication, a collaborative group Zine, mock ups and the skills, knowledge and network to continue making books in the future.
