Course Description

This course uses creative problem solving approaches to enhance the way people tackle and solve business issues.

The sessions are practical, allowing you to try out new ways of working to tackle real business issues and challenges.

The course is suitable for managers who want to refresh their approach to increasing productivity, senior leaders who wish to develop their approach to managing challenges, and marketing professionals who want to develop a more creative approach to their campaigns.

On this course you will:

  • explore and understand the problem solving process and how it relates to your place of work
  • learn how past experience affects the way we solve problems
  • try different techniques for identifying and reframing problems
  • use questioning and other tools to think differently, generate ideas and solve problems
  • learn how creative techniques can engage staff and improve collaboration
  • find ways to introduce creativity into your everyday working practices.

What will you gain?

By the end of the training you’ll know how to implement different methods to improve the way you solve business issues.

You’ll have challenged your own bias and undertaken creative thinking activities that will help you overcome existing blind spots.

You’ll also have identified aspects of your business that will benefit from a more innovative approach.

Since 1997 she has devised and delivered leadership development programmes using creativity as the key approach. Her client base has included charities, Local Authorities, Government departments agencies, schools, colleges, universities and small businesses.

Amanda has won a number of awards, including the British Chambers of Commerce ‘Excellence in People Development’ Award in 2008 and 2010. Her role has required her to write and present to a wide range of audiences including young people, teachers, company directors, business leaders and Ministers.

“The biggest benefit of attending has been more imaginative problem solving. I’ve got new strategies and ways of solving problems in a more creative way now. In the past I had a very linear action list – things never quite got done. Now my action list is more appealing to look at, and I actually tackle and get on with actions!” AB - Small Business Owner

“The tools and techniques for creative problem solving were of particular benefit...I loved the visioning and storyboarding – exploring where I want to be and where am I now…I use it all of the time...It’s really helped me stop getting stuck in the detail, and focus more on what we want to achieve and look at how we get there.” RS - Senior Leader
