Monday to Friday 10 am - 4 pm, one week

NTU’s Centre for Broadcasting and Journalism houses an industry-standard broadcast suite and is the technical hub of the Notts TV channel.

On this course you can engage with this exciting resource whilst improving your front-of-camera skills to help you become a better presenter.

Course Description

In addition to an introduction to television presenting, you’ll also be given basic voice training and performance coaching to help you to feel relaxed and confident in the role of a presenter.

You will be given tuition on scriptwriting for bulletins and experience multi-camera presentation.

On this course you will:

  • experience of live and location work
  • learn interview techniques
  • learn how to read autocue.

By the end of the week you’ll have experienced studio presenting and location presenting, and be confident to deliver your next piece to camera.

What will I gain?

After studying this course you should be able to:

  • demonstrate basic knowledge and application of the practical skills relevant to television presenting
  • plan, design and execute research in a range of areas that demonstrates basic knowledge of television journalism
  • work effectively and collaboratively in a team.

Looking for credit?

This course is part of the NTU Global Summer School and can offer 5 NTU credits (2.5 ECTS). If you wish to gain this credit and transcript please complete the application form on the global summer school webpages: www.ntu.ac.uk/globalsummer. Applying for credit is not compulsory.

This course will be taught by a tutor from the photography degree programmes at NTU.
