Course Description

This course will give you an insight into the different forms of sports journalism. You will learn how to write scripts for multimedia, including match reports and sports features. The way sports reporting uses social media and blogs will be explored, along with the art of commentary for radio and television.

By the end of the course you’ll have a good understanding of how to construct multi-media sports stories.

On this course you will:

  • explore social media and sports blogs
  • learn interview techniques in the studio and on location
  • construct and write sports features
  • experience how a sports journalist works.

What will I gain?

After studying this course you should be able to:

  • demonstrate basic knowledge and application of the practical skills relevant to sports journalism
  • plan, design and execute research in a range of areas that demonstrates basic knowledge of sports journalism
  • work effectively and collaboratively in a team
  • demonstrate proficiency in finding, evaluating and managing information and sources of information.
