British Horse Society Riding and Road Safety Training Course

The BHS Progressive Riding Tests (PRT) are a popular option for Approved Riding Centre students instead of taking the BHS Stage 1.

(Weight limit 14 Stone)

For enrolled FE and HE Equine, Animal and Vet Nursing Students ONLY - No external places available.

Detailed Description

All six tests pf the PRT have equitation and stable management sections, both of which will be taken separately. Each syllabus has a number of elements that need to be signed off by the instructor as the learner is ready to be assessed. On the successful completion of each test, you will be issued a certificate.

When you have successfully completed all six tests, you will be able to apply for the official 'final' certificate that means you can enter the BHS Stage 2 directly without having to take the BHS Stage 1 exam saving you £175.00.

The stable management section training will be covered weekly starting on Wed 11 Oct 2017 from 13:00 - 15:00 for 8 weeks.
On Wed 6 Dec 2017 you will be assessed on the stable management sections.

The equitation section training will be done totally separately on Thu 2 Nov 2017, Fri 3 Nov 2017 (during Core Week) and Wed 21 Feb 2018.
On Wed 28 Feb 2018 you will be assessed on the riding sections (during Core Week).
