The field trips will be to York and The Peak District National Park.
The first field trip will be to York on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2016.
It has been planned to provide you with an insight into some of the interesting issues concerning the management and marketing of cultural and heritage tourism within an urban context which attracts many international tourists. We will be visiting a number of attractions, to include: York Minster, The National Railway Museum, York’s Chocolate Story and The Castle Museum.
On the second trip the aim is to provide students with an opportunity to observe the effects that tourism can have upon the rural environment.
Students will have the opportunities to explore the potential conflicts between conservation, tourism, recreation and economic activity.
The date of the second field trip is on Wednesday 8th March 2017. We will be visiting a key tourist area in the Peak District; the group will take part in an extended walking activity.
